The best dog training method is the one that has been modified to best suit your individual dog’s needs. Dogs have such a variety of personalities and charisma, different genetics, different experiences and, potentially, different kinds of baggage.
I know of both Cesar Salad and Victoria Stillwell, and, to be perfectly honest, I’m not a fan of tv personality trainers as a rule, regardless of their methodology. I don’t believe anything is ever purely positive and I definitely don’t believe in the dominance myth.
The best dog training is the kind where you listen to your dog, and hear what they are trying to say, where you recognize their limitations, their fears, their strengths, and their weaknesses.
The best kind of trainer leads with love and confidence, and respect. The best kind of trainer acknowledges their own shortcomings, and evaluates themselves critically before criticizing their dog.
The best kind of trainer loves their dog more than their results.
“The best kind of trainer loves their dog more than their results”
Best quote.
